1971-1974 Studied languages and political science at Michigan State University and the University of Michigan. Studied layout and design, production, typography at Laney College, Oakland, CA. Worked with an alternative publishing collective in Berkeley, CA.


1977-1979 Worked as a typesetter at a commercial art and photography studio in Chicago, studied calligraphy and brush lettering through the Chicago Calligraphy Collective, Newberry Library and at suburban art centers.


1979-1992 While rearing children I did free-lance copy writing, graphic design & production work, package design, hand lettering, English and Hebrew calligraphy and illustration


1992-1994 Columbia College in Chicago in drawing, design, desktop publishing and computer graphics



1995 – present Studied (darkroom) photography with Arthur Lazar at Lake Forest College and subsequently participated in his critique groups. I have worked at the Evanston Art Center’s printmaking studio the past several years, making intaglio prints and lithographs, and continue to paint and draw. Currently studying with painter David Gista.
